Recycling programme

Planet first! Please recycle. If you are a retailer, you must already know the legal requirements. If you are a final consumer, please drop off your used batteries and electronic equipment at special collection points. Together we can reduce waste and prevent environmental contamination.

1. BECAUSE THE LAW IS THE LAW!

According to HG no. 1132/2008 on the regime for batteries, accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators, "in view of the potential environmental impact of transporting unsorted batteries and accumulators, producers together with local public administration authorities shall take the necessary measures to optimise the separate collection of waste batteries and accumulators in order to minimise the disposal of batteries and accumulators as unsorted waste, in order to achieve a high level of recycling".

2. PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.

Batteries and accumulators may contain toxic substances such as lead, mercury, nickel, nickel, cadmium, zinc or lithium. If batteries end up in the rubbish bin, they will end up in landfill near where you live. The bad effects happen quickly: the batteries corrode and leak the toxic substances they contain. The final destination: the environment, where the above-mentioned substances damage the health of the environment by polluting water, soil, plants and animals. What is worse is that, over time, the substances do not dissipate but bioaccumulate, being absorbed by plants, insects, animals and finally... you!

3. YOU ARE ALTRUIST. ARE YOU?

Did you know that recycling batteries helps save resources by allowing the recovery of valuable metals such as nickel, cobalt and silver?

4. ENERGY SAVING.

Using recycled metals in batteries requires less energy consumption. Using recycled cadmium and recycled nickel requires 46% and 75% less primary energy than extracting and refining metals in their natural state, respectively. For zinc, the ratio of the energy required for recycling to the energy required to extract the primary resource is in the order of 2.2 to 8.

5. THE COLLECTION CENTRE IS COOLER THAN THE BIN!

Once upon a time they were very useful, they didn't let you down, they allowed you to make a phone call even though you had no dash. Don't they now deserve proper treatment? In the bin they meet other rubbish, in the recycling bin they meet each other.

6. YOU CAN SET AN EXAMPLE!

Unfortunately, in Romania, this habit still has a few steps to go to gain an accelerated frequency of use. But if it's a habit for you, you can certainly convince those around you! You can confidently use the above arguments!
