For full-grain bovine leathers with a natural finish, proper maintenance means replumping the oils and waxes in the finish without harsh solvents. Here's what works well:

What to use

1. pH-neutral cleansing lotion for smooth skin (alcohol/silicone-free)
• For light cleansing: dust, hand marks.
• Apply a dab on a soft washcloth, wipe gently, then dry naturally.
2. Optional: Hydrophobic protective spray (fluoropolymers, silicone-free) - optional, for stain/moisture resistance, but tested before as it can slightly change the matt appearance.

What can we do if we want to remove surface scratches?

• Rub the area with your finger or heat very gently with the foehn (low setting): the wax redistributes and the scratch fades.

What to avoid

• Alcohol, acetone, wet wipes, degreasers, universal foam.
• Silicone and varnishes/acrylics (clogs pores, you lose the pull-up effect).
• Excessiveneatsfoot oil or Vaseline (can lock colour in too much/soak fibre too much).

Frequency & short routine

• Monthly: soft brush + light wipe with pH-neutral lotion.
• Every 2-3 months (or when it looks dry): a very thin coat of oil-wax conditioner.
• Always test on a hidden area, as any conditioner can slightly darken the skin (part of the patina).
